WEEK OF OCTOBER 5th

This is the 2nd installment of our new weekly Student Ministry Blog for parents.  Here we will try to keep you informed as to what is coming up and equip you to better lead your student to know Christ more.

CHALLENGE FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER

We believe that two combined influences are more powerful than two influences.  For this reasons we want to work to partner with parents as a minsitry as a whole and as individual youth leaders.  The better the commuication between parents and youth leaders, the better we can partner to help our churches teenagers grow to know Jesus, love Jesus, life for Jesus, and tell others about Him.

THE CHALLENGE FOR THIS MONTH

• Introduce yourself in person to your students C Group or D Group leader.
• If you already know their small group leader, write them an encouraging note!

HALLOWEEN OUTREACH EVENT - October 26th

October 26th we're throwing a massive Halloween Outreach Cookout.  This event is intended as an environment where your teenager can invite their friends to a safe environment where they will hear the gospel!

DATE - October 26

TIME - 5:00 to 8:00 PM

WHO - 6th-12th graders and their friends

WHERE - Hutto Bible Church

WHAT

• Costume contest
• Big event attractions (more details on this Sunday)
• Games
• Live music
• Cookout
• Smashing pumpkins
• ...and more!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

I've been in youth ministry for over 10 years, and I've seen a lot of students graduate our ministry and explode spiritually.  Unfortunately I've also seen many students graduate from high school and implode spiritually in during their first two years in college or independent adult life.

As a parent there are things you can do RIGHT NOW to help your child launch into adult life and succeed spiritually.  

Here is a link to a blog post a wrote title: "Five Reasons Students Abandon the Faith After High School  ...and what you can do about it!"  I highly recommend you read this article and consider what your student needs right now to prepare them to launch into adult life.
